Don't let the picture fool you, he looks worse in person.
jesús (or chuy) was born in the desert city of mexicali, baja california, mexico. his family moved to the u. s. a. at the end of his 10th grade. he graduated from brawley high school and then continued his studies, pursuin a degree in computer science, which later was changed to mathematics.
During all this time, he continued studying art mostly in his own. After teaching high school mathematics for more than 15 years, he decided that he was more suitable to be an art teacher than a math teacher.
he currently teaches art in salem, oregon, where he lives with his wife, son, and four fur moochers.

jesús' art focuses mostly in the fantastic, with a large number of horror-themed artworks. what attracts jesús to horror is the visual elements, for the most part. he loves creatures and monsters, and, of course, the weirdness of the genre. the weirder, the better. furthermore, growing up scared of everything, making horror art gives back control over those fears.
however, horror is not the only thing that he creates. he grew up reading comics, watching sci fi movies and lucha libre (mexican wrestling), so it is not uncommon for jesús to create fan art based on everything that he likes, many times with a sprinkle of mexican culture thrown in there.
you may also find art pieces that are humoruos or straight up cartoony.
